College football’s off-season can feel like an eternity at times. The abundance of time and lack of important news leads to shitty headlines and enables non-stories to be relevant. To counter the immensely dull stories the 2018 off-season has provided, I have put together a list of what the people want to see. The Baker Mayfield Effect

Though isn't it odd that an up and coming program with a promising 2018 season would spend their time looking at a freshman quarterback. Houston comes off of a 7-win season behind potential 2018 defensive player of the year Ed Oliver. To justify this, Yarnell must have out of this world stats from his freshman year, but upon inspection of the 2017 varsity roster he is nowhere to be found. Jake Fromm Suffers a Broken Hand

The university of Georgia’s starting quarterback, Jake Fromm, suffered a broken hand following a boating accident on the 4 th of July. Fromm isn’t expected to miss any of the season and still plans on being available to run summer workouts (wearing a splint). Off the field accidents aren’t unfamiliar waters to Fromm as he also made news earlier this summer when he made an unexpected trip to the emergency room to have a fishhook removed from his leg. These freak off the field incidents have some Georgia faithful up in arms about what players do in their free time and quite frankly it isn’t any of their damn business. Crazy accidents like these happen all the time and are simply inevitable; spending time with family on the 4 th of July isn’t a sin.
